What’s a “Quilted Baseball”?

Several people have asked me, “Where are the baseball quilts”?   The answer is, they are in my head, on my work table, and on the sewing machine.  Some of them are even in my fabric cabinet germinating.  I promise that the first one is on it’s way.  Please be patient.  The creative process is slow for some of us.  All the spring training coverage has seriously cut into my sewing time!

In the meantime, if you are interested, you can take a look at some quilts by someone that has inspired me.  A Massachusetts quilter, Rosemary Bawn, has been creating  fabulous Red Sox-themed quilts for several years.  She does not have a web site but I found some information about her and am posting the URL here:

After viewing some of Rosemary’s quilts, I think you will start seeing the connection between quilts and baseball.  No, you say?  Let me help.  Think of baseball.  Think of something else you love.  Congratulations!  Now you get it.

P.S.  Have you ever noticed that the stitches on a baseball are perfect and lovely, or is it just me?  Oh.  Okay.  Never mind.
